Life can sometimes feel like a journey across waters. There are moments when we feel strong and confident. There are also days when our burdens become too heavy to carry alone. During those seasons God reminds us that we were never meant to face every struggle by ourselves.
The Bible says in Galatians 6:2 "Carry each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
This verse is a reminder of what genuine Christian love looks like. Love is not expressed through words, celebrations or happy moments. True love is revealed when someone stays beside us during the storms of life.
Sometimes carrying another person’s burden simply means listening without judgment. It may mean offering encouragement when someone feels discouraged praying for a friend who is struggling or simply saying, "I am here for you." We may not always be able to solve another persons problems. Our presence can remind them that they are not alone.
The illustration of two people in a boat beautifully represents this truth. The boat may pass through waves. They are together. When one becomes weak the other can offer support. In the way God calls us to become a source of strength and comfort to the people around us.
Perhaps someone in your life is quietly carrying a burden today. They may smile in front of others while struggling inside. Take a moment to reach out. Send a message. Offer a prayer. Listen to them. Show them kindness.
If you are the one carrying a heavy burden remember this: you do not have to pretend to be strong all the time. God can work through the people He places around you. Allow others to support you and place your burdens in His hands.
Real love does not simply celebrate with us in waters; it stays with us through the waves.
Today let us choose compassion over judgment encouragement over criticism and love, over indifference. When we carry one another burdens we reflect the heart of Christ and become a small light of hope in someone elses difficult journey.
