YOUTH DAY (KṬP DAY)
What is KṬP DAY?
Which is known
as YOUTH DAY in English. This day is observed every year by EFCI in the
month of October last Sunday but before the exact day we the youth organisation
used to celebrate by organising One day sports consisting of many kinds of
sports such as Football, volleyball, water passing, bamboo race, tug of war,
penalty kick and many more. In this way we not only try to uplift our spiritual
life but also for the upliftment of physical exercise which we mainly aim at gathering
the unity within the youth organisation.
Main aim and event
The main aim of this One day Sport before Youth Day was a holiday dedicated to celebrating the energy, creativity, and potential of young people, was the perfect backdrop for the sporting extravaganza. The event was marked by enthusiastic participation, fierce competition, and an uplifting sense of camaraderie, all under the banner of promoting youth empowerment through sports.
Youth Day, The field buzzed with excitement as teams of athletes aged between 15 and 55 took to the field to compete in a range of sporting events. From track and field events to football, water passing, bamboo race and volleyball, the day was packed with thrilling moments that showcased both individual and team efforts.
More Than Just Sports
This youth day was held on 21st October, 2023 at Darchawi Kumarghat, Quarter EBH field
Beyond
the competition, the Youth Day Sports Event had a broader mission – fostering
unity and inclusion. The day wasn’t just about winning medals; it was about
building friendships, promoting healthy lifestyles, and giving young people a
platform to showcase their abilities.
The event
was a reminder that sports, in all its forms, continues to be a powerful tool
for uniting communities, empowering individuals, and shaping the leaders of
tomorrow. As one participant remarked, "Today wasn’t just about winning –
it was about proving to ourselves that we can achieve greatness."
With the
success of this year’s event, plans are already underway to expand the competition
in the coming years, making Youth Day an even bigger platform for young
athletes to shine.
I just
wanted to share my views regarding this Youth Day which we called in the
Darlong Language Kristian Ṭhalai Pawl Day (KṬP Day).
