Trusting the Process of God, PSALM 37

Trusting the Process of God

Psalm 37:5 (NKJV)

“Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”

We live in a world full of uncertainties—jobs can change, people may fail us, plans may not go as expected. But in Psalm 37:5, David gives us a timeless promise: If we commit our way to the Lord and trust in Him, He will bring it to pass.

This verse is an invitation to surrender and a guarantee of God’s faithful action.

1. Commit Your Way to the Lord

The Hebrew word for commit literally means “to roll onto.” Picture a heavy burden or plan that you are carrying—God says, roll it over onto Me.

When we commit our plans, dreams, decisions, and even worries to God, we are saying:
“Lord, this is Yours now. I give You control.”
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

This doesn't mean being passive, but it means letting God lead the direction.

Proverbs 16:3 says:

When we let God take the driver’s seat, we avoid unnecessary detours in life.

2. Trust in Him

Committing is not enough—we must also trust.

Trusting in God means believing:

  • He is good.
  • He is wise.
  •  His timing is perfect.

Sometimes we pray and surrender something to God, but then we try to take it back by worrying or rushing ahead. God is not slow; He is intentional.

Isaiah 26:3 reminds us:

“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

When we trust God, peace will follow.

3. He Shall Bring It to Pass

This is the promise of God’s action. When we do our part (commit and trust), God does His part (bring it to pass).

This doesn’t always mean things happen the way we want or when we want. But God brings things to pass according to His will, and His plan is always better than ours.

Romans 8:28 says:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

God brings His promises to fulfillment, not just in small things, but in eternal things—salvation, purpose, healing, peace.

Conclusion:

Today, God is inviting you to:

  • Roll your burden onto Him.
  • Trust Him deeply.
  • Watch Him fulfill His purpose.

Let us stop carrying things we were never meant to carry. Let go, and let God take control.

Say it with faith today:

“Lord, I commit my way to You. I trust You. And I believe You will bring it to pass.”

Amen.
