The Meeting of the Evil – A Powerful Christian Story About Repentance.
Far beneath
the quiet world of human beings, in a dark and shadowy hall where no light
could enter, a secret meeting was about to begin. The servants of Satan had
gathered from every corner of the earth. Their faces were full of cunning and
pride, and their voices whispered like cold winds through the chamber.
At the center
of the hall stood a tall black throne. Sitting upon it was the Chairman of
the Evil, a powerful servant of Satan who had been sent to plan new ways to
lead humans away from God.
The chairman
slowly stood up and looked around the room. Hundreds of evil spirits waited
silently for his command.
“My fellow servants,” he began with a deep and serious
voice, “we have a mission. Humans were created to live with God in heaven, but
our purpose is to bring them away from Him and lead them to destruction. Today
we must decide how to bring more people to hell.”
A dark murmur
filled the hall as the evil spirits nodded in agreement.
The chairman
continued, “Humans still
pray. Many still believe in God. Some even follow Jesus. We must find a way to
deceive them. Tell me your ideas.”
He pointed to
the first evil spirit sitting near the front.
“Speak,” the
chairman ordered.
The first evil slowly stood up. His eyes were full of
wicked confidence.
“I have a
suggestion,” he said. “Let us
spread the message among humans that there is heaven, but there is no hell.
If people believe that hell does not exist, they will not fear the consequences
of sin. They will lie, cheat, hate, and live however they want. And when they
die, they will still expect to go to heaven.”
Many evil
spirits clapped and laughed darkly.
“That way,”
the first evil continued proudly, “humans will destroy themselves without even
knowing it.”
The chairman
leaned back on his throne and thought carefully. For a moment the hall was
silent.
Finally he
shook his head slowly.
“It is clever,” he said, “but not clever enough. Many humans still read their holy books. They
will see that hell is mentioned. Some will not believe your lie.”
The first
evil sat down quietly.
Then the
chairman pointed to another spirit.
“You. Speak.”
The second evil stood up quickly and smiled.
“My idea is better,” he said
confidently. “We will tell
humans that Jesus is not the only way to heaven. We will convince them
that they can reach heaven by simply being good people.”
The room grew
louder as many evil spirits whispered among themselves.
The second
evil continued, “We will say
that kindness, charity, and good works are enough. Humans will think they can
save themselves. They will forget about repentance. They will forget about the
sacrifice of Jesus. They will trust their own goodness instead of God.”
The evil
spirits laughed softly.
“But the truth is,” he
said with a wicked grin, “no
human is perfect. And if they rely only on their goodness, they will never find
the true way.”
The chairman
folded his arms and thought again.
After a
moment he sighed.
“Your plan may confuse some,”
he said, “but many
believers will still remember the words of Jesus. Some will still preach that
He is the only way.”
The second
evil slowly sat down.
Now the hall
became very quiet.
The chairman
looked around the room and spoke again.
“Is there anyone with a better
suggestion?”
For a moment
no one moved.
Then from the
back of the room, the third
evil slowly stood up. He did not look as proud as the others.
Instead, a quiet smile crossed his face.
“Chairman,”
he said calmly, “I
believe the best deception is not denying heaven or hell.”
The chairman
leaned forward with curiosity.
“Explain,” he said.
The third
evil continued, “We will
tell humans that heaven is real… and hell is real.”
The room
suddenly became silent.
Some evil
spirits looked confused.
“But,” the third evil
said slowly, “we will
also tell them something else.”
“What?” asked the
chairman.
The third
evil smiled wider.
“We will tell them that there is still plenty
of time.”
The
chairman’s eyes narrowed.
“Go on.”
“We will
whisper to them,” the
third evil explained, “‘You can change later. You can repent tomorrow. You can
follow God when you are older. Right now, enjoy life. Do whatever you want.
There is still time.’”
A dark
excitement began spreading across the hall.
The third
evil continued,
“Humans will delay their
repentance. They will postpone their faith. They will wait and wait… until
their time on earth is suddenly over. And when death comes, it will be too
late.”
For a moment,
the chairman said nothing.
Then slowly…
he stood up.
A wide smile
appeared on his face.
“This,” he
said loudly, “is the
greatest deception of all.”
The evil
spirits leaned forward eagerly.
“The first lie can be discovered.
The second lie can be challenged. But the lie of ‘tomorrow’ is the most
dangerous of all.”
He raised his
hand and declared,
“From today onward, spread this
message across the world:
Tell humans they still have time.
Tell them they can change later.
Tell them not to hurry.”
The evil spirits cheered loudly as they rushed out
to carry the message across the earth.
And from that day forward, a quiet whisper began
to follow humanity everywhere:
“Not today… tomorrow.”
But the truth
is something very different.
None of us
know how long our life will last.
No one knows the day or the hour when Jesus will return.
Life is
fragile. Time is uncertain.
That is why
the most dangerous word in the world is “later.”
Moral
Do not wait
for tomorrow.
We do not know when our time will come.
If your heart
hears the call of God today, respond today.
Repent, turn
away from sin, and come to Jesus now—because today is the day of salvation.
